The Strong Tower Difference
Ask Yourself…
What do you own?
Why do you own what you own?
Do you know what you’re truly paying, for your investment management and advice?
If you can’t answer these three questions, watch this video.

What Will Your Advisor Do the Next Time the Market Sells-off??
You can’t control the markets—but you can manage risk.
How?
By understanding what you own, why you own it, and how your portfolio is managed during periods of market stress. That requires attention—either from you or from your advisor.
During periods when markets move beyond normal ranges of volatility—such as exceeding a ±1 standard deviation (and notably during extreme events like the 2008 financial crisis or the COVID-19 selloff, when volatility reached well beyond ±3 standard deviations)—important questions should be asked:
What process is in place to manage risk or raise cash when volatility increases?
Are there defined exit or risk-management strategies designed to help reduce portfolio volatility?
How is downside risk addressed when market conditions change?
In the coming weeks, we will expand on three key questions every investor should consider:
What Do You Own?
Do you hold asset classes or individual positions that have consistently underperformed or detracted from long-term results?
Why Do You Own What You Own?
What is the rationale for maintaining certain investments if they have not demonstrated effectiveness within a long-term strategy?
Do You Know What You Are Truly Paying, for Your Investment Management and Advice?
Strong markets can mask areas of underperformance within an asset allocation. When markets become more challenging, the value of process, discipline, and risk management becomes more apparent.
* What is your advisor’s plan during the next market sell-off?
* Is there a defined framework for decision-making during periods of elevated volatility?
Remaining engaged—such as modestly increasing cash allocations, trimming positions, or harvesting gains—may help reduce portfolio volatility during certain market environments. Many traditional asset allocation models remain fully invested throughout all market conditions, regardless of risk levels, because that is the standard approach across much of the industry.
The next time you feel that “something” could have been done to help reduce downside risk, it may be worth revisiting the strategy and process behind your portfolio.
We invite you to have a conversation with Strong Tower Wealth Management to better understand how your portfolio aligns with our disciplined and adaptable, risk-management investment process.
